- OALPRP held its initial organizational meeting on May 6, 1988. Since that beginning, the Association has steadily grown in membership, and has expanded its activities, and opportunities for professional growth. Members benefit from the sharing of information and experiences, which is done informally from office to office and in structured sessions such as workshops and conferences held each year in various parts of the state.
- Many members have close ties with local solid waste districts as well as state and national organizations including Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention, Association of Ohio Recyclers, National Recycling Coalition, Environmental Education Council of Ohio, Organization of Solid Waste Districts of Ohio and Keep Ohio Beautiful.
- The Association strives to help its members cope with the ever-increasing complexity of doing work in the public sector. All face similar challenges involved in working with local and state governments.
- There is strength in partnership – strength in OALPRP!
